The story develop from "Hoarding Disorder", tell about the relationship between "Father and Son

CONCEPT

After my uncle passed away in September 2021, I sorted out his belongings, and suddenly found that he had a lot of things, far exceeding the amount needed for a person's life.
I thought of hoarding disorder, which is a manifestation of loneliness in human life. Seeing the emptiness that needs to be filled with objects makes me feel a lot of emptiness too.
When I was a child, I could always vaguely feel the loneliness of adults. As I grew up, I gradually realized that loneliness, whether I copied the same behavior pattern as them?

Visual Development

I thought I ran away, but some of things you would never be able to escape.
I will still think about things that I don’t want to think about, and I will recall those things I don’t even want to remember.

This work wants to talk about the relationship between children and adults. About loneliness, and those things that you think you've escaped, but you can’t escape after all. The room represents the inner world, the boy gets into his father’s room, longing to connect with him ; the giant bug is a metaphor for loneliness, depression and his memories about his father.

The story happened in a Taiwanese old building from my memories.
I use the cool and dark tone colors, and the damp textures to create a gloomy atmosphere. The timeline alternated between present and past, telling by the grown up protagonist. The narration seems to be the protagonist's soliloquy, but he is actually talking to his father.
