When life consists of a series of unfortunate events, it is difficult to find a moment where life could be built in a positive direction.
The mudslide is coming, I am so desperate to protect your heart, which is the heart of the betel nut.
This film is inspired by my grandmother’s betel nut stand. Expressing the mood of the lonely little boy, telling the feeling when I was little and the environmental issues in Taiwan.
The industry of the betel nuts in Taiwan fell with the mudslide in the 1980s. I found the industry of betel nuts in Taiwan and my childhood are highly relevant, just like floating on the endless river and a bunch of questions would never have an answer. Is that all I can do is nothing but Pray to god?
When I was young, I would ask a lot of questions. I thought that many questions would be solved when I grew up, but after I grew up, I discovered that many questions had no answers, and those problems had no solutions.
Through this animation, I look directly at my childhood heart, making this short film is like responding to those questions when I was a child, and also like asking questions again.
